A Friend, Supporter, and Lasting Part of the Women Against Crime Family
Some people come into your life and leave a lasting mark on your heart. Nancy Stewart was one of those people.
Nancy was a member of my very first Women Against Crime class in 2001. What began as a student-instructor relationship quickly grew into something much more meaningful. Over the next 15 years, Nancy continued to support and encourage me, remaining actively involved with Women Against Crime through 2016. Along the way, we built a friendship that lasted for many wonderful years.
Nancy believed in the mission of Women Against Crime and, more importantly, believed in the people behind it. Her encouragement, kindness, and unwavering support helped shape not only my journey but also the story of our organization. She was the kind of person who quietly made a difference simply by showing up, offering a kind word, and standing beside those she cared about.
Although Nancy passed away on May 18, I recently had the privilege of attending her funeral and sharing just how much she meant to me. Reflecting on the years we spent together reminded me of the incredible impact one person can have on the lives of others.
At Women Against Crime, we are grateful for every individual who has walked alongside us in our mission to educate, empower, and protect our communities. Nancy was one of those special people whose legacy will continue to live on through the friendships she built and the lives she touched.
Nancy held a special place in my heart and in the history of Women Against Crime. I will always be thankful for her friendship, her faith in me, and the countless memories we shared over the years.
Rest in peace, my dear friend. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Your legacy of kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support will remain a cherished part of the Women Against Crime family forever.
